LOVE WILL TRAVEL
Lost San Francisco Punk Film Returns to the Screen
(with opening sets from Class of '77 and Insect Lounge, plus film guests & more!)
Having escaped Hamburg with her young sister after a family tragedy, Lena works at a strip club in San Francisco's Tenderloin district 13 years later and still takes care of now-teen Katrin (Katherine Gilbert) Lena's b.f. Levon (Johnny Goetchius) brings in nickels playing honey tonk piano in a bar, but soon, trio's desperate lives send them on the road. The virtual ghost town they decamp in is the kind of archly conceived village that only exists in indie movies, populated by friendly old coots, irritating dog catchers and burly bikers.
Class of ‘77
Class of ’77 is the brainchild of lead singer and front person extraordinaire, Chelsea Rose. Initially deciding to cover the Sex Pistol’s song No Feelings, Chelsea pivoted to launching a band dedicated to the groundbreaking music of the year of that song’s release: 1977. Long time musical friends Pauli Gray, guitarist, Carmela Thompson, bassist, and Ian Larkin, drummer, were invited to join. At the first rehearsal, the chemistry and magic of the group was immediately apparent.
