Talent Moat presents:
Eraser
Philadelphia’s No-Wavers Eraser erupted onto the East Coast punk scene like a shattering disco ball. The group’s members Sonam, Kat, Juliette and Pier united in 2023 through their love of DIY music and their overlapping experiences in the Philly scene playing in former and con-current bands Drill, Amanda X, Corey Flood, and Privacy Issues. Since forming, Eraser has built a unique sound informed by legendary punk bands like The Slits, Malaria, and Liquid Liquid- as well as by their palpable sense of humor, and their raw, experimentally elastic approach to songwriting. Eraser have continued to grow their following by contributing a single on the comp No Occupation, and by releasing their debut EP Hideout with art rock stalwarts Siltbreeze Records.
With their debut LP, Hideout, Eraser has established a diverse palette using angular fuzz-guitar, tunneling basslines, motorik drums, discordant synth, and melodic, percussive vocals. The EP is made up of 5 diverse, yet cohesive tracks. The release starts with a suspenseful intro and quickly breaks into “Talk To Me”- which features a linear jam with hyper-infectious hooks accented by cool near-blasé vocals. Other standouts include “Simon Says” with its hilariously damaged homage to the childhood game, and Dinner Roll with its piercing synth line and wonky guitar riffage.
In the past year Eraser has provided direct support for Special Interest, Protomartyr, Tropical Fuck Storm, Tommy Wright the III, Pylon, W.I.T.C.H, Wombo, Famous Mammals, Poison Ruin and Puppet Wipes. Eraser also played two music festivals in 2025: Sled Island in Calgary and Gonerfest in Memphis, TN.
Eraser will be releasing their second full-length album in September 2026 on Siltbreeze.
Blue Zero
The Bay Area has long been a fertile landscape for arty DIY rock innovators to fashion together some of the best music to come out of the US- the local musicians pushing the boundaries of pop and counterculture aesthetics. In the middle of this creative oasis you’ll find multi-instrumentalist songwriter Chris Natividad making iridescent waves with his many projects including Marbled Eye, Public Interest, Aluminum, and now- Blue Zero. What started as a few outlier demos cultivated in Chris’ studio has now fully bloomed into a live band featuring members Lauren Melton of SUCKER and Rick Altieri of Blue Ocean, and a forthcoming LP titled Colder Shade Blue. The songs on the record harmoniously tow the line of warm and meditative artrock and fuzzy, damaged grunge a là Lily’s, Sonic Youth, and My Bloody Valentine. While Blue Zero pays homage to their predecessors, the music is wholly unique with its mesmerizing big hooks and blown-out radiating psychedelic atmosphere- a tonal yin yang.
