7:00 PM: Stop Making Sense (1984) – Academy Award-winning director Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia) makes possibly “the greatest concert film of all-time” documenting Rock and Roll HOF band Talking Heads at the height of their popularity on tour for their 1983 album “Speaking in Tongues” which included the smash hit “Burning Down the House” and classic “Naive Melody.” Filmed over three nights at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, the band– David Byrne in his iconic “Big Suit,” Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison –take the stage one by one as they are joined by a cadre of guest musicians including Rock and Roll HOF Bernie Worrell (Parliament-Funkadelic) and Alex Weir (Brothers Johnson) and Tom Tom Club for an incredibly artistic and energetic set including “Psycho Killer,” “Life During Wartime,” and “Once In A Lifetime.” Caught by Oscar nominated cinematographer Jordan Croneweth (Blade Runner) it was included into The National Film Registry in 2021.

ROBERT MAILER ANDERSON: Anderson is a native San Franciscan, 9th generation Californian, writer, producer, filmmaker (Windows on The World, Pig Hunt) activist, author of the bestselling novel Boonville, and nominated for 3 Grammys as a music producer. His most recent work is the graphic novel My Fairy Godfather (Fantagraphics) - dedicated to The Castro Theater. He is also known as "DJ GrampaPhone” - spinning 78 records on his 120-year-old gramophone.
