7:00 PM: DINER (1982) – Director Barry Levinson (6-time Oscar nominee, winner best picture, Rain Man) film debut, Oscar-nominated for Best Screenplay, with dialogue credited to have influenced Tarantino, Nick Hornby, and the creation of Seinfeld! There are no degrees of Kevin Beacon as he co-stars with Mickey Rourke, Steve Guttenberg, Paul Reiser, Daniel Stern, and Ellen Barkin in breakout performances as a group of college-age friends whose second home is a diner. They struggle with their imminent passage into adulthood, friendship, fear of intimacy, women, and why “You never ask me what’s on the B-side!” in 1959 Baltimore. “What do you want? Say the words!” It’s pre-Vietnam America and the beginning of rock and roll! The last time anyone will ever ask, “Who’s the greatest, Sinatra or Mathis?”

ROBERT MAILER ANDERSON: Anderson is a native San Franciscan, 9th generation Californian, writer, producer, filmmaker (Windows on The World, Pig Hunt) activist, author of the bestselling novel Boonville, and nominated for 3 Grammys as a music producer. His most recent work is the graphic novel My Fairy Godfather (Fantagraphics) - dedicated to The Castro Theater. He is also known as "DJ GrampaPhone” - spinning 78 records on his 120-year-old gramophone.
