Green Film Festival presents:
BEST DAY EVER

Best Day Ever is poignant, fun, meaningful, adventurous, emotional and uplifting in equal measure. Through the stories of Greg Durso and Allie Bianchi, the film explores the challenges of disability alongside the freedom, friendship and independence that adventure can bring. With warmth, humour and genuine human connection, it challenges perceptions of what is possible, celebrates the power of community and opens up an important conversation around accessibility within mountain biking and beyond. It's an inspiring and beautifully crafted film that captures the essence of adventure filmmaking.

ROOTS

More than 200 days of the year, you can find local Vermonter and Smugglers Notch ski patroller, Ethan Parrish, skiing some of the most extreme terrain in the Vermont backcountry—lines he discovered venturing out from his hometown of Calais. Ethan is aware of the impact of outsiders on local life, from the strain on community to reckless practices in the backcountry. While clearing the land surrounding his great-uncle’s farmhouse, he dreams of his own future, living off the land and skiing Vermont’s Green Mountains. Roots explores his deep connection to the mountains, the people in his life, and his home.

MOUNTAIN BIKING THROUGH SACRED LAND

Nestled in the heart of Central Chile’s Araucanía Region, just under 135 kilometers east of Temuco and close to the Argentine border, Icalma is a place where the land remains wild, raw, and seemingly untouched by time. Surrounded by lush forests, pristine glacial lakes, and awe-inspiring volcanoes, this sacred land has been cared for by its Indigenous peoples, the Mapuche, for generations.

UNREGULAR JOE

In the face of online retailers, Joe decides to close his small Brooklyn bike shop, in favor of creating experiences. He now leads the way in introducing bike camping culture to New York City.

Forget the guilt trip, the Green Film Festival of San Francisco, the mischievous, tree-hugging cousin of the 29 year old SF IndieFest, returns Oct 15-22 to prove that saving the planet doesn't have to feel like homework. We've ditched the doom-and-gloom documentaries that make you want to crawl under a (sustainably sourced) blanket and never come out. The line-up this year pairs sharp environmental storytelling with wit, weirdness, and unapologetic irreverence. And yes, our Eco-Horror midnight movie is back!

Whether you’re an eco-curious cinephile or a die-hard activist, come join in the fun because if we're going to talk about the end of the world as we know it, we might as well laugh, gasp, and maybe even dance a little on the way there. Through this experience the festival hopes audiences can begin to engage with sustainable solutions to the problems facing the planet.
